As I learn to make more compelling photos, I read what others have done, and I look. A lot! Making pictures of kids is challenging. The minute I pull out the camera they put on the “fake smile” to please–but it doesn’t. I don’t dare say “photoshoot” it will send them all into hiding. I have learned that especially with boys, they need to be doing something. This is often sports, but this time it was building. We have contests with the Lego bin. Grab a handful. Build with what you get. Describe your creation to the others. Vote on the best one. These pix are a photoshoot in disguise. I claimed to be experimenting with different settings on the camera. (I really did do that.) But I also just wanted them to ignore me. I dream of beautiful lighting and piercingly gorgeous eyes in the frame… Maybe one day!
