After quite a stint of crazy activity and emotion, we all sat down to dinner together with calm and glad hearts.  Jokes and laughter.  Good food and wine.  Showers and bedtime at a reasonable hour.

Life is good!

I planted grass in the “Lake Morey” area of our front yard and the lake proceeded to form.  But the grass has taken root anyway!

I have been working on my Simple and Green site at Etsy.com.  I am working on getting consistent with my creating.  I have tons of ideas–just have to execute them.  Stay tuned for that!

We had a family outing to the aquarium.  (thanks Grandy and Pop) We got to see some great things we didn’t see last time.  Especially the octopus but no photography was allowed. 

Despite the kids and dogs in the yard, we have had some spring blooms.  I am so cheered by that!  Various daffodils, yellow tulips, grape hyacinth, bleeding heart, and camellia blooms. YAY!

We did have an emergency.  Kate’s buddy Heather had to get 9 stitched because of this rock that Alexander and his friend Kenny dug up!

Now it’s on to the end of the school year frenzy!

Soccer games, dance recitals, and school events. 

I am so grateful for good friends.  This gang is tried and true.  So much so, that I was not behind the lens to capture it!  Thanks Steen and Dave for hosting.  Thanks Stu, LeaAnn, Chris and Renee for all the laughs and hugs.   At least… “that’s what she said”.

Today, it’s me.

So I’m reading this book that I hope is helping me change some things.  Maybe that’s just my dreamer self dreaming again…  Change is never easy.  For me, it has to be gradual.  I am not one for quitting something cold turkey and starting something new; mainly because I won’t finish and stick to it.  I know this about myself.  Doesn’t that count for something?

The book is called: It’s Hard to Make a Difference When You Can’t Find Your Keys: the seven-step path to becoming truly organized.

I hear you!  The laughter is really not cool!

I know I am not known for organization.  I believe I can change.

Seven steps huh?  Seems so simple, but really it’s a huge shift in thinking; delving into the beliefs that hold me in the chaos.  Focusing on physical, emotional, mental and spiritual components in order to grow and change.  The book has lots of questions and exercises to help figure it all out.

1.       Establish Your Purpose.  What exactly can being organized do for me?  I see it as a way to help reduce my anxiety and create a calm and happy home.   I will have more time for people and activities I love.

2.       Envision What You Want.  My home is a haven from the outside world.  It is a simple life of well made and well cared for foods and useful items.  Clear surfaces gleam around the whole house.

3.       Take Stock.  In my discipline is my freedom.

4.       Choose Support.   Anyone?… Bueller?…  Bueller?
